Learn More About Lee’s Story

Lee Zuniss has managed challenges in his own life that have given him insight into how fully accepting a challenge, and focusing on doing his best to manage it, transformed his impediments into empowering tools to broaden and build upon his strengths.

Up until his early 30’s, Lee struggled with stuttering, a speech impediment that gave him the untrue perspective that he was not very intelligent.  He was able to overcome his speech impediment by mindfully speaking slowly and thoughtfully, which caused his choice of words to be concise and deliberate.  He developed a special skill for communication and deep listening.  Where he once struggled to verbalize a simple sentence, he transformed his speaking ability to be impeccable with his words and communicate with emotional intelligence.

At the age of 13, Lee was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, an autoimmune disorder that attacks the pancreas until it is no longer able to produce insulin.  Being forced at such a young age to manage the role of a major organ and to contend with the emotional implications of a lifelong condition increased his capacity to empathize and his level of emotional maturity. He learned that by taking special care of the biopsychosocial aspects of his life as a whole, not only could he live a healthy and full life, but that he could live it with gratitude and appreciation.

One motto he is known for is, “how can this get even better?”  He found that using plant medicines, in microdoses, in conjunction with coaching is a powerful way to “be (or get) even better.”

Lee believes that we all have the innate ability to overcome limiting thought patterns and to see for ourselves the path for recovering our wholeness and our joy by shining light on and chiseling away at negative beliefs that may not be true.

Lee’s education includes a Bachelors in Business from the University of Maryland, Certification from Co-Active Coaching Institute and various prestigious acting schools.

Some experts in the fields of psychology, neuroscience, addiction, meditation, plant medicine and personal and spiritual growth that Lee is influenced by are Eckhart Tolle, Brene Brown, Gabor Mate, Ram Dass, Joe Dispenza, Andrew Huberman, Alan Watts, Thich That Hanh and the Dali Lama, just to name a few.

Previously living in NYC and Brooklyn for many years, Lee now resides in the mountains of Colorado with his wife and extended family.

How did Lee know that he wanted to be a coach? The goosebumps on his arms told him so.
